The LG Twins and SK Wyverns meet Tuesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action.
The LG Twins are 2-3 in the regular season and look for back-to-back victories for the first time. The LG Twins are coming off a win over the NC Dinos where they scored 10 runs and strung together 15 hits. In the victory, Chae Eun-sung and Roberto Ramos combined for four hits and five RBI while Casey Kelly allowed six runs and eight hits in two innings of work. The LG Twins pitching staff is allowing 7.4 runs per game through five regular season meetings, so there’s no question what needs to improve in order for them to have a shot at a winning record.
The SK Wyverns are 1-4 in regular season action and are riding a three-game losing streak. The SK Wyverns are also coming off a shutout loss to the Lotte Giants and have failed to score a single run in each of their last 11 innings. In their last effort, Jeong Jin-gi and Jeong Eui-yoon combined for two hits while Kim Tae-hoon allowed two runs and two hits in six innings of work. The SK Wyverns have now lost eight of their last nine games dating back to the preseason and they feel like a team that just can’t catch a break. If it’s not one thing it’s another when it comes to the SK Wyverns.
The last six meetings between the LG Twins and SK Wyverns have been split down the middle, but it was the Wyverns that won the only meeting in the preseason. Eight of the last 11 meetings between the Twins and Wyverns have produced double-digit run totals.
This is a game where you should probably take the over and be done with it. Both clubs are sloppy as all hell, have pitching issues and there's a history of high run totals when they meet. However, since I'm writing these without lines out yet, I'm going to give the slight edge to the LG Twins, who have shown more fight up to this point. The Twins have found ways to win two games despite poor pitching, while the SK Wyverns issues date back to the preseason. Still, there's better options on Tuesday's KBO card.
