There have been a lot of great players that have come through Major League Baseball, whether it was for just a couple seasons or a 15 year career.  Let us take a look at which players had the most total bases for a career. 

1. Atop the list is Hank Aaron.  Aaron was about as consistent as it could get at the plate, across a 23 year career.  The current hall of fame member totaled 6,856 total bases for his career.  His career stretched from 1954-1976.  The most total bases he had in one season was 400. 

2. Stan Musial is 2nd on the list, after having an incredible career with the St. Louis Cardinals.  His career stretched from 1941-1963.  He totaled 6,134 total bases for his career.  The most total bases he had in one season was 429. 

3. Willie Mays is 3rd on the all time list, after his longtime career with the Giants.  Mays registered 6,066 total bases for his career.  His Career stretched from 1951-1973.  The most total bases he had in one season was 382.  He collected 382 total bases in one season twice. 

4. Barry Bonds is 4th on the all time list .  Bonds recorded 5,976 total bases during his career that was played during 1986-2007.  The long-time San Francisco Giant recorded his most total bases in one season during 2001.  He collected 411 that season.  

5. Albert Pujols rounds out the top 5, after registering 5,863 total bases to this point.  The longtime St. Louis Cardinal and current Los Angeles Angel saw the most total bases in one season during the 2003 season.  He collected 394 total bases that season.  Pujols has had a career that started in 2001-present. 

6. Ty Cobb is 6th on the all time list, after collecting 5,854 total bases during his career from 1905-1928.  Cobb collected the most total bases in one season during the 1911 campaign.  He registered 367 total bases that season.  

7. Alex Rodriguez is 7th on the all time list, after having a great career primarily with the New York Yankees. Rodriguez collected 5,813 total bases while playing from 1994-2016.  The slugger saw the most total bases in one season during the 2001 season.  He collected 394 total bases that season.   

8. Babe Ruth is 8th on the all time list, after having a 22 year career.  Ruth registered 5,793 total bases during his 1914-1935 career.  He saw the most total bases in one season during the 1921 campaign.  During that campaign he totaled 457 total bases. 

9. Pete Rose is 9th on the all time list.  Rose was not a huge power hitter, but was a great gap to gap hitter. The longtime Cincinnati Red recorded 5,752 total bases during his career.  His career stretched from 1963-1986.  The most total bases he had in one season was 321.  He collected 321 total bases during the 1969 season. 

10. Carl Yastrzemski irounds out the top 10.  Yastrzemski collected 5,539 total bases during his career.  The former Boston Red Sox played his career from 1961-1983.  His whole career was with Boston.  The most total bases he had in one season was 360, which took place during the 1967 campaign.
