The LG Twins and Kiwoom Heroes meet Saturday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action.
The LG Twins look to keep the ball rolling while building on a four-game winning streak. The LG Twins just swept the SK Wyverns and are coming off a victory where they scored the winning run in the ninth inning. In the victory, Chae Eun-sung and Jung Ju-hyeon combined for two hits and two RBI while Tyler Wilson allowed two runs and four hits in six innings of work. The LG Twins have won seven of their last 10 games overall. Jung Chan-heon gets the ball tonight for the LG Twins.
The Kiwoom Heroes need a win after back-to-back losses, but they’re still 6-3 in regular season action. The Kiwoom Heroes lost two of three to the Samsung Lions and have given up 13 runs and 19 hits in their last two games. In the losing effort, Lee Jung-hoo and Park Byung-ho combined for three hits and two RBI while Lee Seung-ho allowed four runs and eight hits in three innings of work. The Kiwoom Heroes have won 10 of their last 13 games overall. Han Hyun-hee gets the ball tonight for the Kiwoom Heroes.
The Kiwoom Heroes have won six of the last eight meetings against the LG Twins, which includes a 3-2 preseason victory a couple of weeks ago. Six of the last seven meetings between the Heroes and Twins have produced single-digit run totals.
The Kiwoom Heroes should probably be the pick here based on them being the better team overall and the one-sided h2h history that includes an impressive showing a couple of weeks ago in the preseason. The problem is the Heroes are riding back to back losses where the pitching staff wasn't so hot. The LG Twins have won four straight games and the offense is hitting the ball fairly well during this stretch where they've won seven of their last 10 games.
In a battle between two teams that have had great success up to this point, I'll take my chances with the hotter team and the cheaper price.
