The KIA Tigers and Doosan Bears meet Sunday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action.
The KIA Tigers finally broke out of their slump offensively, scoring four first inning runs and finishing their victory with 13 runs and 16 hits. The KIA Tigers have now scored double-digit runs twice in their last six games and have won four of their last six games overall. In their victory, Preston Tucker and Choi Hyung-woo combined for six hits and nine RBI while Yang Hyun-jong allowed two runs and six hits in six innings of work. The KIA Tigers have split their last 10 games overall. Aaron Brooks gets the ball tonight for the KIA Tigers.
The Doosan Bears look to avoid back-to-back wins for the first time this regular season. The Doosan Bears have now allowed double-digit run totals in four of their last seven games. In the losing effort, Choi Joo-hwan and Hur Kyoung-min combined for two hits and three RBI while Lee Yong-chan allowed eight runs and eight hits in four innings of work. The Doosan Bears have split their last 12 games overall. Raul Alcantara gets the ball tonight for the Doosan Bears.
The Doosan Bears have won five of the last six meetings against the KIA Tigers and seven of the last nine meetings overall. Seven of the last eight meetings between the Tigers and Bears have produced single-digit run totals.
The KIA Tigers looked good enough last night to consider giving them a shot in this spot, but they've also run hot and cold all regular season and that offense hasn't had a lot of explosions. The Doosan Bears have been one of the more consistent teams up to this point and they have yet to lose back-to-back regular season games up to this point. There's also the one-sided history between these two teams, as the Doosan Bears have still won five of the last six meetings against the KIA Tigers. Basically, one game doesn't change my mind in this series.
I look for the Doosan Bears to redeem themselves.
