The Uni Lions (10-16) and the Fubon Guardians (10-13) will meet on Wednesday, May 20th for a 1st Stage regular-season matchup in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). Tuesday's game was postponed, so with the extra day off for each team, how will this game fare?
Tuesday's Uni Lions and Fubon Guardians clash was postponed, unfortunately, but luckily the two teams are back in action on Wednesday. Of course, both teams are probably not too upset that they were given the extra day's rest. This benefits Uni even more, as the Lions have played the most games in the CPBL this season, playing three more games than their competitor Fubon. Both teams share the same amount of wins so far this seasons at 10, but Fubon has three games in hand as stated before.
Uni has struggled mightily when it comes to pitching and defense this season, as the Lions are coming off a 19-9 loss to Chinatrust in their last game on Sunday. Uni's offense has not disappointed nearly as much as the pitching staff, as although this is a more offensive-driven league, Uni needs to allow fewer runs per game.
Fubon has to be feeling pretty good after a big win over Rakuten in their last game on Sunday, 9-7. That was Fubon's first win over Rakuten this entire season, as they were 0-7 before that victory. Look for Fubon to be playing with a rare level of confidence in this game.
The betting line in this game shows that this should be yet another competitive game between these two teams. Fubon opens as the small favorite, as they have a -115 price on the Win Line. Uni is the minor underdog in this one, with a -110 price respectively. Yesterday I had picked the Fubon Guardians to win since they are trending in a much better direction than Uni as of late. Uni was demoralized in that embarrassing loss to Chinatrust, so I think they come out a little slow against Fubon. I will take the Fubon Guardians at -115 in this game, as they are plainly the stronger ballclub.
