Which Player had the Most Triples in a MLB Single Season?

There have been a lot of great players that have come and went through Major League Baseball.  Some players stood out for a full career, others stood out for one season.  Let’s take a look at which players had the most triple for a single season. 

1. Chief Wilson is atop the list, after having an incredible season during 1912.  Wilson collected 36 triples, while playing for Pittsburgh.  During his 9 year career, the right fielder totaled 114 triples for his career.   

T-2. Dave Orr is 2nd on the single season list, after registering 31 triples during the 1886 campaign.  Orr accomplished this while playing for the New York Metropolitans. He recorded 108 triples during his 8 year career. 

T-2. Heinie Reitz is tied with Orr for 2nd, after smacking 31 triples during the 1894 season.  Reitz did this while playing for the Baltimore Orioles. The infielder registered 65 triples for his career.  He never had more than 13 triples in another season during his 7 year career. 

4. Perry Werden is 4th on the list, after recording 29 triples during the 1893 campaign.  Werden did this during a campaign while playing for St. Louis.  The first baseman totaled 87 triples for his career. 

T-5. Harry Davis is 5th on the list, thanks to a season where he found the gap on the regular.  Davis collected 28 triples during the 1897 season.  He did this while playing for Pittsburgh.  The Philadelphia, PA native had an incredible 145 triples for a career.

T-5. Sam Thompson is tied for 5th with Davis, after clubbing 28 triples during the 1894 campaign.  Thompson did this during a season with Philadelphia.  He registered 161 3 baggers during a 15 year career. 

T-7. George Davis is 7th on the list, after totaling 27 triples during the 1893 season.  Davis was a New York Giant during the 83 campaign.  He registered 163 triples during his 20 year big league career. 

T-7. Jimmy Williams is tied for 7th with Davis, after recording 27 triples during the 1899 season.  Williams was playing for Pittsburgh during this season.  He totaled 138 triples for his career that was stretched across 11 MLB seasons. 

T-9. Sam Crawford is one of few that is 9th on the list, after smacking 26 triples during the 1914 campaign.  Crawford was on Detroit at this time.  He collected 309 triples for his career, which is also the all time record for a career. 

T-9. Kiki Cuyler is tied for Crawford for 9th, after registering 26 triples during the 1925 season.  Cuyler was on Pittsburgh at this time.  He totaled 157 triples for his career.

T-9. Shoeless Joe Jackson is tied for 9th with Crawford and Cuyler with 26 triples in a season.  Cuyler accomplished this during the 1925 campaign, while playing for Pittsburgh.  He recorded 157 triples for a career. 

T-9. John Reilly is tied for 9th with Crawford, Cuyler, and Jackson, after totaling 26 triples during the 1890 season.  Reilly played his career with Cincinnati.  He collected 139 triples for his career. 

T-9. George Treadway rounds out the list, tied with Crawford, Cuyler, Jackson, and Reilly with 26 triples.  Treadway did this during the 1894 season, while playing for the  Brooklyn Grooms.  He had 46 triples during a 4 year career.
