The Fubon Guardians (12-14) and the Chinatrust Brothers (14-14) will meet on Sunday, May 31st for a 1st Stage regular-season matchup in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). Game one was rained out, game two went to Chinatrust, how will game three go down?
The Chinatrust Brothers were victorious on Saturday, 4-3 against the Fubon Guardians. Chinatrust is finally back to .500 at 14-14, and they gained a game on the first place Rakuten Monkeys. Chinatrust is now only back 4.0 games to Rakuten, which is not much in a small league like the CPBL. Fubon loses its 14th game of the season and they move to 12-14 on the year. Fubon is now in sole possession of third place in the CPBL standings, 1.0 games behind Chinatrust for second.
Chinatrust took their 4-0 lead by the top of the fourth inning, the only runs they would score for the rest of the game. That would prove to be enough, as Fubon was only able to add two in the fourth and one in the sixth to lose the game 4-3. Chinatrust had 13 hits and one error on their line, while Fubon had eight hits and an error on theirs.
Game three of this series remains extremely important for both ballclubs, as Chinatrust looks to extend their lead over Fubon in the standings while also trying to catch up to the Rakuten Monkeys in first place. Fubon wants to avoid a 2-0 sweep and they also want to get back to even with Chinatrust in the CPBL standings.
The betting line in this one has the Chinatrust Brothers as the favorites with a -172 price on the Win-Line. The Fubon Guardians are the underdogs in this game with a +127 price on the Win-Line. The total in this game is set at 10.5, which is a very small total for a CPBL game.
I think this game will be low scoring again, but with 10.5 as the total, I have to stay away from the under as we just do not have enough wiggle room. I honestly do not see too much value in many bets in this game, but I will lean the Chinatrust Brothers -1.5 at +105 odds.
