The LG Twins and Samsung Lions meet Tuesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action.
The LG Twins took two of three games from the KIA Tigers and have won six of their last seven games. The LG Twins are coming off a win where they produced 13 runs and 20 hits, and they’ve scored a combined 25 runs in their last three games. In their last effort, Park Yong-taik and Chae Eun-sung combined for four hits and four RBI while Tyler Wilson allowed four runs and 10 hits in six innings of work. The LG Twins have won 14 of their last 18 games overall.
The Samsung Lions took two of three games from the NC Dinos and have won four of their last five games. The Samsung Lions are coming off their best series yet, but they’re also coming off a losing effort where they allowed 18 runs and 21 hits. In their latest effort, Choi Young-jin and Tyler Saladino combined for four hits and three RBI while Choi Chae-heung allowed seven runs and nine hits in four innings of work. The Samsung Lions have lost 11 of their last 19 games overall.
The LG Twins and Samsung Lions have split the last 10 meetings, but the Twins won the series when these teams met a couple weeks ago. Seven of the last eight meetings between the Twins and Lions have produced single-digit run totals.
The LG Twins have been the better and more consistent team up to this point, but the games between these two clubs have been tight and they both have had equal success in most of the recent meetings. The Samsung Lions also just took two of three games from the best team in the league, so while they've had their fair share of struggles, it was the type of successful series that could carry over and provide confidence heading into this week.
We haven't backed them a lot this season, but I'll take a shot with the Samsung Lions in game one of this series.
