Chinatrust Brothers (17-15) and the Uni Lions (13-21) will meet on Saturday, June 6th for a 1st Stage regular-season matchup in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). Chinatrust won game one in another classic between these two teams; how will game two fare?
The Chinatrust Brothers defeated the Uni Lions by the final score of 8-7. This game went down to the wire, just as many Brothers vs. Lions games go. Uni took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, that was quickly erased in the bottom half of the first with a three-run frame from Chinatrust. After Uni made a 3-2 ballgame, Chinatrust added two more runs in the same inning to extend their lead to 5-2. Uni was able to tie the game at 5-5 with a three-run fifth inning, making this game a tight-battle in the later stages. In the top of the seventh inning, Uni took the lead 6-5. Their momentum was deleted in the bottom of the eighth inning when Chinatrust exploded for a three-run inning and took the lead 8-6. Uni is the King of disappointing and stinging losses, but they would not give up just yet. Uni was able to score in the top of the ninth to get within one run yet again, 8-7. However, Uni could not get on the scoreboard again in the ninth, and the Chinatrust Brothers escaped with the much-needed one-run victory on Friday.
Chinatrust now improves to 17-15, two games above .500 and they remain 3.0 games behind Rakuten for first place in the CPBL standings. Uni is now 13-21, eight games below .500 and slowly being forgotten in the standings.
The betting line in this game has the Chinatrust Brothers as the heavy favorites yet again with a -220 price on the Win-Line. Uni is of course the underdogs with +175 odds on the Win-Line. The total in this game is set at 13.5 runs, with both the over and the under at -110 odds.
I like the over in this game, as whenever these two teams play, runs go all over the place. I think one or even both of these teams can reach double-digits in the run column on Saturday.
