The NC Dinos and Doosan Bears meet Tuesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action.
The NC Dinos look to build on their five-game winning streak after just sweeping the Hanwha Eagles. The NC Dinos have allowed a combined six runs in their last four games and are allowing 2.4 runs per game during their five-game winning streak. In their last effort, Kang Jin-sung and Aaron Altherr combined for five hits and five RBI while Lee Jae-hak allowed one run and two hits in seven innings of work. The NC Dinos have won 19 of their last 24 games overall.
The Doosan Bears look to build on their four-game winning streak after just sweeping the KIA Tigers. The Doosan Bears have allowed a combined six runs and 21 hits in their last three games. In their last effort, Park Se-hyuk and Kim Jae-ho combined for five hits and two RBI while Yu Hui-kwan allowed two runs and eight hits in seven innings of work. The Doosan Bears have won 15 of their last 24 games overall.
The NC Dinos are 5-3-1 in their last nine meetings against the Doosan Bears and took two of three games from them in the previous series this season. Five of the last 10 meetings between the Dinos and Bears have produced double-digit run totals.
The Doosan Bears are one of those teams that can give this entire league fits when they’re swinging a hot bat, and we saw just how quickly they strung together four straight victories. The Doosan Bears have also had more success against the NC Dinos than most teams, so they’re not a club to look past in this series. With that said, the NC Dinos are a team we’ve been getting behind since the preseason, and all they’ve done is win five straight games and 19 of their last 24 games overall. The NC Dinos have lost just six games since May 5, and they’ve allowed 112 runs through 29 games, easily the best pitching staff in the league.
As usual, give me the NC Dinos until they give me a reason not to blindly back them.
