The SK Wyverns and KIA Tigers meet Friday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action
The SK Wyverns have lost three of their last four games and just lost two of three to the LG Twins. The SK Wyverns have produced a combined four runs and 15 hits in their last two games. In their last effort, Kim Kang-min and Jeong Jin-gi combined for four hits and three RBI while Kim Tae-hoon allowed three runs and three hits in 5.2 innings of work. The SK Wyverns have won eight of their last 12 games overall. Park Jong-hoon gets the ball tonight for the SK Wyverns.
The KIA Tigers have lost four of their last six games, but they just took two of three from the KT Wiz Suwon. The KIA Tigers offense has come to life, producing a combined 21 runs and 27 hits in their last three games. In their last effort, Oh Seon-woo and Kim Ho-ryeong combined for four hits and five RBI while Lee Min-woo allowed eight runs and 11 hits in 3.1 innings of work. The KIA Tigers have won 17 of their last 28 games overall. Drew Gagnon gets the ball tonight for the KIA Tigers.
The SK Wyverns and KIA Tigers have split their last eight meetings down the middle. Seven of the last 10 meetings between the Wyverns and Tigers have produced single-digit run totals.
Both of these teams are playing sloppy baseball heading into this series and past meetings between them have been back and forth, so it's hard to side with either team with confidence in the series opener. I'll still lean toward the KIA Tigers because of how consistent their pitching staff has been throughout the season, and the recent explosion on the offensive end. The KIA Tigers have a lot of potential if they're able to build on their 21 runs of offense in three games against the KT Wiz Suwon. The SK Wyverns came up small against the LG Twins and have now lost three of their last four games, which is some of the worst ball they've played lately.
Give me the KIA Tigers and the reasonable price.
