The Uni Lions (16-23) and the Fubon Guardians (15-19) will meet on Saturday, June 13th for a 1st Stage regular-season matchup in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). This will be game two of this three-game series between Uni and Fubon.
The Uni Lions were victorious in game one of this series on Friday. The Lions won the game by the final score of 10-4, earning their third straight victory. Uni now has more wins than Fubon, yet they still trail the Guardians in the standings by 1.5 games, as they have four more losses than Fubon. For Fubon, this has to be yet another tough blow to the team, as the Guardians blew another significant lead. Fubon was leading this game 4-0 after one and a half innings, yet they were not able to hold that solid lead for more than two innings. Uni scored four runs in the bottom of the second to tie it and then three more in the bottom of the third to take the lead, 7-4. Uni added two more the very next inning and one in the sixth to blow the game wide open.
This is Fubon’s third straight loss, and in all three losses, Fubon had a lead at some point during the game. In fact, Fubon was first to score in all three games as well, giving their team a momentum push right out of the gates. It is strange to see Fubon blow so many significant leads when their pitching has been very solid this entire season. Something needs to be done, whether it be on the field or in the clubhouse, but these leads have to be held for Fubon to have a chance in this league.
The betting line opens with Fubon as the favorites with a -145 price on the Win-Line. The Uni Lions open as the minor underdog with a +115 price on the Win-Line. The total in this game is set at 13.5 runs, with the under set at -120 odds and the over at -105.
I would like to think Fubon could come out and win this game, but how can I trust them after they have shown in their past three games that they do not play well with a lead. I think the best bet to take is the under 13.5 runs. Fubon’s pitching staff is really strong, and I think they will be able to bounce back after a poor performance in game one. If Fubon can hold Uni as they did in innings 7-9 on Friday, this game will go way under.
