The Line: -- Over/Under:
The Hanwha Eagles and LG Twins meet Tuesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action.
The Hanwha Eagles took two of three games from the Doosan Bears, but they’ve also lost 17 of their last 19 games. The Hanwha Eagles have produced a combined 10 runs and 17 hits in their last two games, and they haven’t won three straight games since September. In their last effort, Lee Yong-kyu and Choi Jae-hoon combined for three hits and two RBI while Warwick Saupold allowed two runs and eight hits in six innings of work. The Hanwha Eagles have lost 27 of their last 34 games overall.
The LG Twins have won five of their last seven games and just took two of three games from the Lotte Giants. The LG Twins have produced a combined 16 runs and 24 hits in their last two games and double-digit run totals twice this month. In their last effort, Lee Chun-woong and Yoo Kang-nam combined for four hits and seven RBI while Casey Kelly allowed four runs and 11 hits in six innings of work. The LG Twins have won 19 of their last 29 games overall.
The LG Twins have won the last four meetings against the Hanwha Eagles, and they’ve also won five of the last seven meetings. Seven of the last 10 meetings between the Eagles and Twins have produced single-digit run totals.
The Hanwha Eagles went from losing 17 straight games to winning two straight against the Doosan Bears and now looking for their third straight win for the first time since September of last year. While it does show signs of life, I'm pretty sure it takes more than two wins since May 23 to move the needle a whole lot. The LG Twins are coming off a really impressive week, and now they're hoping into a series against a team they've beaten all four times this year when you throw in one preseason game. The LG Twins should be grinning right now.
I need to see more before I start trusting the Hanwha Eagles. Give me the LG Twins to take game one of this series.
