The Samsung Lions and Hanwha Eagles meet Wednesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Daegu Samsung Lions Park.
The Samsung Lions look for another victory after splitting their last six games. The Samsung Lions have allowed a combined 34 runs and 53 hits in their last five games. In their latest effort, Park Hae-min and Kim Eung-min combined for five hits and five RBI while Choi Chae-heung allowed one run and five hits in six innings of work. The Samsung Lions have won 15 of their last 24 games overall.
The Hanwha Eagles need a win after losing six of their last seven games and just losing two of three games against the NC Dinos. The Hanwha Eagles pitching staff has allowed 51 runs and 78 hits in their last seven games. In their last effort, Lee Yong-kyu and Kim Tae-kyun combined for two hits and two RBI while Chad Bell allowed four runs and five hits in 5.2 innings of work. The Hanwha Eagles have lost 33 of their last 41 games overall.
The Samsung Lions have won seven of the last 10 meetings against the Hanwha Eagles and have outscored them 14-4 in the two meetings this year. Six of the last 11 meetings between the Lions and Eagles have produced double-digit run totals.
The Samsung Lions have put together a couple of nice wins over the last week, but we know it's only a matter of time before they have a rough week. The good news in this series is the Hanwha Eagles are just playing awful baseball and the losses continue to pile up at an alarming rate. To make matters worse, the Hanwha Eagles pitching isn't getting any better, as they just allowed 11 runs on 11 hits last night and have now given up 20 runs and 22 hits in their last 18 innings. The Hanwha Eagles have been automatic fade material for us for quite some time and that's not going to change given these constant horrible showings.
I'm going to side with the Samsung Lions, and I'll take the RL to shave down whatever the ML price is going to be.
