The SK Wyverns and Doosan Bears meet Thursday morning in game two South Korea KBO baseball action at the Incheon SK Happy Dream Stadium.
The SK Wyverns could use a feel good victory here to snap a brutal seven-game losing streak. The SK Wyverns offense has produced five or less runs in each of their last 14 games. In their last effort, Choi Ji-hoon and Jeong Eui-yoon combined for four hits and two RBI while Kim Tae-hoon allowed six runs and eight hits in five innings of work. The SK Wyverns have lost 14 of their last 18 games overall.
The Doosan Bears look for another victory to build on their impressive five-game winning streak. The Doosan Bears have produced a combined 51 runs and 78 hits in their last seven games. In their last effort, Kim Jae-hwan and Park Kun-woo combined for six hits and seven RBI while Chris Flexen allowed two runs and seven hits in six innings of work. The Doosan Bears have won 16 of their last 25 games overall.
The Doosan Bears have won nine of the last 11 meetings against the SK Wyverns, and they’re 4-1 against them this year. Six of the last eight meetings between the Bears and Wyverns have produced double-digit run totals.
It's always tough to predict game two of a baseball game without knowing what happened in the first game, but there's no question the Doosan Bears are the better team here and also playing the better baseball. The Doosan Bears have won five straight games and that offense is downright rolling with an average of 7.2 runs in their last seven games. The SK Wyverns have lost seven straight games and their offense hasn't topped five runs in each of their last 14 games. These teams are heading in opposite directions and there's no reason to try to get cute with this pick. Not to mention the SK Wyverns are a team we've faded much of this season and it's paid off in a big way up to this point.
I have no choice but to side with the Doosan Bears for the sweep.
