The Hanwha Eagles and KT Wiz Suwon meet Friday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Hanwha Life Eagles Park.
The Hanwha Eagles need a win after losing six of their last eight games and just lost two of three games against the Samsung Lions. The Hanwha Eagles pitching staff has allowed seven or more runs in five of their last nine games. In their last effort, Jung Eun-won and Jung Jin-ho combined for three hits and five RBI while Kim Bum-soo allowed two runs and six hits in six innings of work. The Hanwha Eagles have lost 16 of their last 20 games overall. Warwick Saupold gets the ball tonight for the Hanwha Eagles.
The KT Wiz Suwon look for a win after splitting their last six games and just lost two of three games to the NC Dinos. The KT Wiz Suwon are coming off a blowout victory where they scored 19 runs on 17 hits. In their last effort, Mel Rojas and Sim Woo-jun combined for six hits and seven RBI while Kim Min-soo allowed three runs and seven hits in 6.1 innings of work. The KT Wiz Suwon have split their last 16 games overall. So Hyeong-jun gets the ball tonight for the KT Wiz Suwon.
The KT Wiz Suwon are 5-1-2 in the last eight meetings against the Hanwha Eagles and they took two of three games in the last series. Ten of the last 14 meetings between the Wiz Suwon and Eagles have produced single-digit run totals.
The Hanwha Eagles are coming off a feel good win over the Samsung Lions and showed signs of life in that series overall, but they’re still a club we’ve blindly faded much of this month and they’ve won just four games since May 23. The KT Wiz Suwon have had their issues as well, but they’ve played .500 ball over the last two weeks and are fresh off scoring 19 runs, which should do wonders for their confidence.
I’ll gladly take KT Wiz Suwon to draw first blood in this series, and I’ll also take the RL to add value to whatever the ML price is.
