The SK Wyverns need a win after losing eight of their last nine games and just lost two of three games to the Doosan Bears. The SK Wyverns pitching staff has allowed seven or more runs in four of their last five games. In their last effort, Choi Jeong and Jamie Romak combined for three hits and four RBI while Moon Seung-won allowed zero runs and four hits in seven innings of work. The LG Twins were just swept by the Kiwoom Heroes and are riding a six-game losing streak. The LG Twins pitching staff has allowed five or more runs in six of their last seven games. In their last effort, Hong Chang-gi and Kim Hyun-soo combined for two hits and two RBI while Cha Woo-chan allowed zero runs and one hit in six innings of work. The LG Twins have won five of the last six games against the SK Wyverns and are 5-2 against them this year overall. Seven of the last 11 meetings between the Twins and Wyverns have produced single-digit run totals.
This is an absolute brutal series based on the current form of both teams and I’m not running to the window to bet either side if we’re being honest. However, we have to pick a side, so let’s lean toward the LG Twins. The LG Twins have been the better team clearly this season and have beaten the SK Wyverns in five of the last six meetings. We can also expect the LG Twins to turn things around eventually, especially with a respectable pitching staff that’s allowing five runs per game. The SK Wyverns are one of the worst teams in the league by far and their offense is averaging just 3.8 runs per game.
The LG Twins should finally end this losing streak.
