SK Wyverns vs. LG Twins
KBO Baseball: Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 4:00 am
The Line: LG Twins -160 / SK Wyverns +140 -- Over/Under: 10
The SK Wyverns and LG Twins meet Sunday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Incheon SK Happy Dream Stadium.
The SK Wyverns need a win after losing nine of their last 11 games. The SK Wyverns pitching staff has allowed seven or more runs in four of their last seven games. In their last effort, Kim Kyung-ho and Choi Ji-hoon combined for two hits while Ricardo Pinto allowed one run and six hits in 5.1 innings of work. The SK Wyverns have lost 13 of their last 16 games overall. Kim Joo-han gets the ball tonight for the SK Wyverns.
The LG Twins could use a feel good victory after losing seven of their last eight games. The LG Twins pitching staff has allowed five or more runs in seven of their last nine games. In their last effort, Lee Chun-woong and Kim Ho-eun combined for five hits and three RBI while Jung Chan-heon allowed zero runs and three hits in nine innings of work. The LG Twins have lost 11 of their last 20 games overall. Lim Chan-gyu gets the ball tonight for the LG Twins.
The LG Twins have won six of the last eight games against the SK Wyverns and are 6-3 against them this year overall. Nine of the last 13 meetings between the Twins and Wyverns have produced single-digit run totals.
It's hard to side with an over when nine of the last 13 meetings have produced single-digit run totals and the SK Wyverns are fresh off a game where they were shutout and produced just three hits. Still, I'm not laying juice with a LG Twins team that's lost seven of eight games, and there's little value in backing the SK Wyverns in their current form. We have two starting pitchers who haven't been all that great, as Chan-gyu has an ERA of 4.69 and a WHIP of 1.39, while Joo-han has a 10.80 ERA and 2.60 WHIP and four walks in five innings. Last year in 12 innings, Joo-han had a 5.25 ERA and 1.58 WHIP, so it's not the small sample size.
I expect some fireworks in this one. Give me the double-digit run total.
