The Samsung Lions and SK Wyverns meet Tuesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Daegu Samsung Lions Park.
The Samsung Lions look to keep the ball rolling after winning five of their last seven games and they just took two of three games from the Lotte Giants. The Samsung Lions have allowed five or less runs in nine of their last 13 games. In their latest effort, Koo Ja-wook and Lee Sung-gon combined for two hits and three RBI while Kim Dae-woo allowed four runs and seven hits in four innings of work. The Samsung Lions have won 12 of their last 19 games overall.
The SK Wyverns need a win after losing 10 of their last 12 games and just lost two of three games to the LG Twins. The SK Wyverns pitching staff has allowed four or less runs in each of their last four games. In their last effort, Choi Jeong and Kim Sung-hyun combined for three hits while Kim Joo-han allowed two runs and four hits in six innings of work. The SK Wyverns have lost 14 of their last 17 games overall.
The SK Wyverns have won five of the last seven meetings against the Samsung Lions and are 2-1 against them this year. Seven of the last nine meetings between the Wyverns and Lions have produced single-digit run totals.
The Samsung Lions enter this series playing some impressive baseball and their pitching staff has been rather consistent over these last two weeks. The SK Wyverns have not only lost 10 of their last 12 games, but they've been shutout in each of their last two contests. The SK Wyverns haven't scored a run since Friday morning and have won just three games since June 11. While the SK Wyverns have had success against the Samsung Lions, it's just very difficult to get behind them in their current form, a team that had issues winning games to begin with but now can't put any runs on the board. When it rains it pours.
I'll side with the Samsung Lions and will take the RL for added value.
