The NC Dinos and Lotte Giants meet Wednesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Changwon NC Park.
The NC Dinos look for a victory after splitting their last six games. The NC Dinos have scored five or more runs in five of their last eight games. In their last effort, Na Sung-bum and Park Suk-min combined for two hits and four RBI while Mike Wright allowed three runs and nine hits in six innings of work. The NC Dinos have split their last 12 games overall. Koo Chang-mo gets the ball tonight for the NC Dinos.
The Lotte Giants look for a win after splitting their last eight games. The Lotte Giants offense has produced four or less runs in six of their last 10 games. In the latest effort, Lee Dae-ho and An Chi-hong combined for six hits and eight RBI while Kim Dae-woo allowed one run and one hit in 2.1 innings of work. The Lotte Giants have lost nine of their last 14 games overall. Jang Won-sam gets the ball tonight for the Lotte Giants.
The Lotte Giants have won five of the last six meetings against the NC Dinos. Five of the last nine meetings between the Giants and Dinos have produced double-digit run totals.
The NC Dinos aren't playing well enough to be laying this sort of juice, as they've been average as best these last couple of weeks despite still holding the best record in baseball. The Lotte Giants also have the offense to produce an upset any given night and they showed it last night by dropping a double-digit run total. With that said, the pitching matchup in this one is completely one-sided and the reason for the line. Chang-mo has a 1.37 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 65 strikeouts in 59 innings. Won-sam has a 15.00 ERA, 3.67 WHIP and zero strikeouts in three innings. Won-sam had a 7.98 ERA in 14.2 innings last year, so the struggles go beyond just the small sample size this season.
I'll back the NC Dinos in this spot because of the starting pitching edge, and I'll side with the RL to shave down an expensive ML price.
