The Kiwoom Heroes and Doosan Bears meet Thursday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Gocheok Sky Dome.
The Kiwoom Heroes look for another victory after winning 11 of their last 13 games and three of their last four games. The Kiwoom Heroes have scored no less than five runs in eight of their last 10 games. In their last effort, Lee Ji-young and Jeon Byung-woo combined for two hits and two RBI while Han Hyun-hee allowed 10 runs and 11 hits in 1.2 innings of work. The Kiwoom Heroes have won 13 of their last 17 games overall. Jo Young-gun gets the ball tonight for the Kiwoom Heroes.
The Doosan Bears need a win after losing four of their last six games. The Doosan Bears offense has produced double-digit runs in two of their last four games. In their last effort, Jose Fernandez and Oh Jae-il combined for eight hits and four RBI while Lee Young-ha allowed one run and seven hits in six innings of work. The Doosan Bears have won 12 of their last 22 games overall. Park Jong-gi gets the ball tonight for the Doosan Bears.
The Doosan Bears have won seven of the last 11 meetings against the Kiwoom Heroes, but they’ve lost two of the four meetings this year. Eight of the last 12 meetings between the Heroes and Bears have produced double-digit run totals.
The Kiwoom Heroes are playing the better baseball entering this contest obviously, but they're running into a Doosan Bears club that's had their number lately and just dropped double-digit runs on their head last night. Jong-gi has also been terrific for the Bears this season, as he has a 2.81 ERA and 0.94 WHIP with 13 strikeouts in 16 innings. Young-gun hasn't had the same luck with the Heroes, as he has a 6.87 ERA and 1.96 WHIP with eight strikeouts in 18.1 innings. The Doosan Bears have a clear starting pitching edge in this matchup and their bats have woken up rather quickly.
I'm going to side with the Doosan Bears to take another one from the hot Heroes.
