The Samsung Lions and LG Twins meet Friday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Daegu Samsung Lions Park.
The Samsung Lions look to keep the ball rolling after winning five of their last six games and are fresh off a sweep of the SK Wyverns. The Samsung Lions have allowed five or less runs in 12 of their last 16 games. In their latest effort, Koo Ja-wook and Lee Won-seok combined for two hits and five RBI while Won Tae-in allowed two runs and seven hits in six innings of work. The Samsung Lions have won 15 of their last 22 games overall. Baek Jung-hyun gets the ball tonight for the Samsung Lions.
The LG Twins look for a win after splitting their last six games and just lost two of three against the KT Wiz Suwon. The LG Twins pitching staff has allowed five or more runs in eight of their last 13 games. In their last effort, Jeong Keun-woo and Chae Eun-sung combined for two hits and two RBI while Casey Kelly allowed two runs and eight hits in six innings of work. The LG Twins have lost 13 of their last 24 games overall. Tyler Wilson gets the ball tonight for the LG Twins.
The Samsung Lions and LG Twins have split the last 10 meetings and the six meetings this year have been split as well. Seven of the last 10 meetings between the Lions and Twins have produced single-digit run totals.
The LG Twins aren’t playing great baseball right now and their pitching staff has been getting tagged pretty good over these last two weeks. Wilson also hasn’t been great this season for the LG Twins, as he has a 4.47 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP. The Samsung Lions are quietly one of the hotter teams in the league right now and while Jung-hyun has a 4.50 ERA this season, the Lions have won four straight games when he’s pitched. I’m not trying to step in front of the Samsung Lions in their current form.
Give me the Samsung Lions, and I’ll lay the RL for added value.
