The Doosan Bears and Hanwha Eagles meet Friday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium.
The Doosan Bears need a win after losing five of their last seven games and just lost two of three games to the Kiwoom Heroes. The Doosan Bears offense has produced double-digit runs in two of their last five games. In their last effort, Kim Jae-hwan and Kuk Hae-sung combined for three hits and four RBI while Park Jong-gi allowed three runs and seven hits in three innings of work. The Doosan Bears have won 12 of their last 23 games overall.
The Hanwha Eagles need a feel good victory to snap a four-game losing streak and they were just swept by the KIA Tigers. The Hanwha Eagles pitching staff has allowed seven or more runs in eight of their last 14 games. In their last effort, Jung Jin-ho and Jung Eun-won combined for four hits and one RBI while Wawrick Saupold allowed six runs and 10 hits in 5.1 innings of work. The Hanwha Eagles have lost 20 of their last 25 games overall.
The Doosan Bears have won seven of the last 10 meetings against the Hanwha Eagles, but they’ve been on the losing side of the last two meetings. Five of the last eight meetings between the Bears and Eagles have produced double-digit run totals.
It's hard to get behind either of these teams with the way they've played this week, but I think we can all agree the Doosan Bears are the more trustworthy team and the one-sided success in the h2h series lately also add to the confidence. The Hanwha Eagles just can't get out of their own way with losses in 20 of their last 25 games, and they have a pitching staff that continues to get rocked left and right. The Doosan Bears have an offense that's hitting .298 on the season, and they hit five home runs against them in the previous series this season, so this isn't a series the Hanwha Eagles are going to turn things around.
I'll take the Doosan Bears, and I'll lay the RL for added value.
