The Hanwha Eagles and Lotte Giants meet Tuesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Hanwha Life Eagles Park.
The Hanwha Eagles need a feel good victory after losing six of their last seven games, and they just lost two of three to the Hanwha Eagles. The Hanwha Eagles pitching staff has allowed seven or more runs in nine of their last 17 games. In their last effort, Jung Jin-ho and Oh Sun-jin combined for two hits and three RBI while Chad Bell allowed five runs and nine hits in 5.1 innings of work. The Hanwha Eagles have lost 22 of their last 28 games overall. Jang Shi-hwan gets the ball tonight for the Hanwha Eagles.
The Lotte Giants look for a win after losing six of their last nine games, and they just lost two of three to the SK Wyverns. The Lotte Giants offense has produced four or less runs in nine of their last 15 games. In the latest effort, Son Ah-seop and Kim Joon-tae combined for one hit and two RBI while Park Se-woong allowed three runs and five hits in six innings of work. The Lotte Giants have lost 13 of their last 19 games overall. Jang Won-sam gets the ball tonight for the Lotte Giants.
The Lotte Giants have won three straight meetings against the Hanwha Eagles and six of the last nine meetings overall. Six of the last eight meetings between the Eagles and Giants have produced single-digit run totals.
I'm not trying to back either of these teams in their current form, but it goes without saying the Lotte Giants are the better side here and should get the job done, especially if recent meetings are an indication of things to come. The Hanwha Eagles are a team we've blindly faded much of the season and it's paid off, and Shi-hwan isn't a pitcher you should be thrilled to back given his 5.44 ERA and 1.86 WHIP in 44.2 innings this season. There's just nothing appealing about the Hanwha Eagles right now.
Give me the Lotte Giants and the RL for added value.
