Lotte Giants vs. Hanwha Eagles – 7/9/20 KBO Baseball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Hanwha Eagles and Lotte Giants meet Thursday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Hanwha Life Eagles Park.    

The Hanwha Eagles need a feel good victory after losing seven of their last nine games. The Hanwha Eagles pitching staff has allowed seven or more runs in nine of their last 19 games. In their last effort, Jung Eun-won and Choi Jin-haeng combined for two hits and two RBI while Warwick Saupold allowed four runs and nine hits in six innings of work. The Hanwha Eagles have lost 23 of their last 30 games overall. Kim Bum-soo gets the ball tonight for the Hanwha Eagles.      

The Lotte Giants look for a win after losing seven of their last 11 games. The Lotte Giants offense has produced four or less runs in nine of their last 17 games. In the latest effort, Jeon Jun-woo and Lee Dae-ho combined for five hits and four RBI while Dan Straily allowed zero runs and four hits in seven innings of work. The Lotte Giants have lost 14 of their last 21 games overall. Adrian Sampson gets the ball tonight for the Lotte Giants.    

The Lotte Giants have won four of the last five meetings against the Hanwha Eagles and seven of the last 11 meetings overall. Seven of the last 10 meetings between the Eagles and Giants have produced single-digit run totals.

The Lotte Giants haven’t played great baseball over the last two weeks, but they’ve easily been the better team in this matchup and that includes wins in seven of the last 11 meetings. However, this price isn’t worth taking even if the Giants should still be favored. Bum-soo has been pretty solid this season with a 3.60 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 32 strikeouts in 35 innings. Sampson has been a disaster for the most part, posting a 6.06 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 24 strikeouts in 35.2 innings. The Lotte Giants have lost five of the seven games Sampson has pitched this season.

I don’t do this often, but I’ll take a shot with the Hanwha Eagles and the plus money.
