The Hanwha Eagles and Lotte Giants meet Wednesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Hanwha Life Eagles Park.
The Hanwha Eagles need a feel good victory after losing six of their last eight games. The Hanwha Eagles pitching staff has allowed seven or more runs in nine of their last 18 games. In their last effort, Choi Jin-haeng and Kim Tae-kyun combined for four hits and four RBI while Jang Shi-hwan allowed one run and six hits in five innings of work. The Hanwha Eagles have lost 22 of their last 29 games overall. Warwick Saupold gets the ball tonight for the Hanwha Eagles.
The Lotte Giants look for a win after losing seven of their last 10 games. The Lotte Giants offense has produced four or less runs in nine of their last 16 games. In the latest effort, Jung Hoon and Son Ah-seop combined for four hits and two RBI while Jang Won-sam allowed four runs and five hits in six innings of work. The Lotte Giants have lost 14 of their last 20 games overall. Dan Straily gets the ball tonight for the Lotte Giants.
The Lotte Giants have won three of the last four meetings against the Hanwha Eagles and six of the last 10 meetings overall. Six of the last nine meetings between the Eagles and Giants have produced single-digit run totals.
The Lotte Giants are the better team in this matchup, but they're playing horrible baseball over the last two weeks and the offense has been all but nonexistent. And while Straily has been one of the better pitchers in the KBO with a 2.53 ERA and 1.06 WHIP, he's only 1-2 on the season, which means the Giants don't provide him with much run support and his performances go to waste. The Hanwha Eagles have had some success against the Lotte Giants and Saupold has won three of his last four starts.
I can't lay juice with the Giants in their current form, regardless of who is pitching. I'll take a shot with the Hanwha Eagles and the plus money.
