The LG Twins and NC Dinos meet Friday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium.
The LG Twins need a victory here after losing six of their last eight games and just lost two of three to the Doosan Bears. The LG Twins pitching staff has allowed five or more runs in 13 of their last 19 games. In their last effort, Lee Chun-woong and Hong Chang-gi combined for two hits while Tyler Wilson allowed three runs and eight hits in six innings of work. The LG Twins have lost 17 of their last 30 games overall. Lim Chan-gyu gets the ball tonight for the LG Twins.
The NC Dinos look for a win after winning six of their last eight games and just took two of three from the SK Wyverns. The NC Dinos have scored five or more runs in 11 of their last 16 games. In their last effort, No Jin-hyuk and Kim Sung-wook combined for five hits and six RBI while Choi Sung-young allowed two runs and three hits in six innings of work. The NC Dinos have won 12 of their last 18 games overall. Drew Rucinski gets the ball tonight for the NC Dinos.
The NC Dinos and LG Twins have split their last eight meetings down the middle. Five of the last 10 meetings between the Dinos and Twins have produced double-digit run totals, with the last two contests producing a combined 36 runs.
The LG Twins have had some success against the NC Dinos in the past, but right now they're playing bad baseball with a pitching staff that gets rocked more times than not. I don't expect much different from Chan-gyu who has a 4.14 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 54.1 strikeouts this season. Rucinski has been like many NC Dinos pitchers this season, as he has a solid 2.30 ERA and 1.11 WHIP this season and has won his last three starts. These are teams heading in different directions and a clear pitching advantage as well.
As we've done a lot this season, I'll take the NC Dinos and the RL for added value.
