The Hanwha Eagles and SK Wyverns meet Friday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Hanwha Life Eagles Park.
The Hanwha Eagles need a feel good victory after losing eight of their last 10 games, and they just lost two of three to the Lotte Giants. The Hanwha Eagles pitching staff has allowed seven or more runs in nine of their last 20 games. In their last effort, Oh Sun-jin and Ha Ju-suk combined for two hits and three RBI while Kim Bum-soo allowed four runs and four hits in six innings of work. The Hanwha Eagles have lost 24 of their last 31 games overall. Kim Min-woo gets the ball tonight for the Hanwha Eagles.
The SK Wyverns need a win here after losing eight of their last 11 games, and they just lost two of three to the NC Dinos. The SK Wyverns pitching staff has allowed four or less runs in seven of their last 13 games. In their last effort, Yoon Suk-min and Choi Ji-hoon combined for two hits and two RBI while Ricardo Pinto allowed two runs and six hits in six innings of work. The SK Wyverns have lost 20 of their last 26 games overall. Kim Joo-han gets the ball tonight for the SK Wyverns.
The SK Wyverns have won eight of the last 10 meetings against the Hanwha Eagles, which includes a sweep in the last series back in May. Each of the last four meetings between the Wyverns and Eagles have produced double-digit run totals.
I'm not trying to back either of these teams in their current form and I'm certainly not trying to get behind either of these pitchers. Min-woo has a 4.83 ERA and 1.41 WHIP this season, while Joo-han has a 7.20 ERA and 1.87 WHIP this season. Yikes. With that said, the SK Wyverns have won eight of the last 10 meetings against the Hanwha Eagles, and that includes a sweep in the last series where they won by an average of 3.3 runs per game.
Two struggling teams, I'll back history and side with the SK Wyverns and the plus money.
