The Lotte Giants and LG Twins meet Tuesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Sajik Baseball Stadium.
The Lotte Giants look for a win after losing eight of their last 14 games. The Lotte Giants offense has produced four or less runs in nine of their last 20 games. In the latest effort, Min Byung-hun and Lee Dae-ho combined for two hits and three RBI while Park Se-woong allowed two runs and five hits in five innings of work. The Lotte Giants have lost 15 of their last 24 games overall. Dan Straily gets the ball tonight for the Lotte Giants.
The LG Twins need a victory here after losing seven of their last 10 games. The LG Twins pitching staff has allowed five or more runs in 15 of their last 21 games. In their last effort, Roberto Ramos and Oh Ji-hwan combined for three hits and three RBI while Lee Min-ho allowed three runs and four hits in 6.2 innings of work. The LG Twins have lost 18 of their last 32 games overall. Casey Kelly gets the ball tonight for the LG Twins.
The LG Twins have won seven of the last nine meetings against the Lotte Giants. Eight of the last 10 meetings between the Twins and Giants have produced single-digit run totals.
Both of these teams are playing loudly baseball over the last two weeks to put it nicely, and they've both had a couple of days off to clear the head and hopefully return to their winning ways. The difference in this game is the starting pitching, as Kelly has a 4.86 ERA and 1.40 WHIP with 48 strikeouts in 63 innings. Straily has been one of the better pitchers in the entire KBO, posting a 2.29 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 78 strikeouts in 74.2 innings. Straily is coming off a game where he pitched seven shutout innings and averaged a strikeout per inning. Straily has allowed two or less earned runs in seven of his last eight games.
I'll take the Lotte Giants and the ML, as I don't trust this team in its losing stretch to lay the RL for added value.
