The Lotte Giants and LG Twins meet Thursday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Sajik Baseball Stadium.
The Lotte Giants look for a win after losing nine of their last 16 games. The Lotte Giants offense has produced five or more runs in six of their last seven games. In the latest effort, Jung Hoon and Jeon Jun-woo combined for four hits and two RBI while Adrian Sampson allowed eight runs and 11 hits in 4.1 innings of work. The Lotte Giants have lost 16 of their last 26 games overall. Jang Won-sam gets the ball tonight for the Lotte Giants.
The LG Twins need a victory here after losing eight of their last 12 games. The LG Twins pitching staff has allowed five or more runs in 16 of their last 23 games. In their last effort, Kim Hyun-soo and Hong Chang-gi combined for three hits and four RBI while Tyler Wilson allowed two runs and eight hits in six innings of work. The LG Twins have lost 19 of their last 34 games overall. Jung Chan-heon gets the ball tonight for the LG Twins.
The LG Twins have won eight of the last 11 meetings against the Lotte Giants. Nine of the last 12 meetings between the Twins and Giants have produced single-digit run totals.
As these two struggling teams close out the series, the LG Twins seem to have an advantage Thursday morning, mainly in the starting pitching department. Chan-heon has been solid all year for the Twins, posting a 2.62 ERA and 1.07 WHIP with 42 strikeouts 42.2 innings. The LG Twins have won six straight games Chan-heon has pitched. Won-sam has been on the opposite site, as he has a 7.20 ERA and 1.60 WHIP with four strikeouts in 15 innings. Won-sam has allowed three homers in his last 12 innings and the Giants have lost all three games he’s pitched. There’s also the one-sided history between these clubs with the Twins winning eight of the last 11 meetings against the Giants. This is a good spot for the Twins to get back in the win column.
I’ll lay the juice with the LG Twins.
