The LG Twins and Hanwha Eagles meet Saturday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium.
The LG Twins need a victory here after losing nine of their last 14 games. The LG Twins pitching staff has allowed five or more runs in 17 of their last 25 games. In their last effort, Oh Ji-hwan and Kim Hyun-soo combined for four hits and four RBI while Lim Chan-gyu allowed zero runs and two hits in six innings of work. The LG Twins have lost 20 of their last 36 games overall. Cha Woo-chan gets the ball tonight for the LG Twins.
The Hanwha Eagles need a win after losing seven of their last 11 games. The Hanwha Eagles pitching staff has allowed five or more runs in eight of their last 11 games. In their last effort, Choi Jae-hoon and Jung Eun-won combined for three hits while Kim Jin-wook allowed three runs and six hits in four innings of work. The Hanwha Eagles have lost 28 of their last 38 games overall. Jang Shi-hwan gets the ball tonight for the Hanwha Eagles.
The LG Twins have won each of the last eight meetings against the Hanwha Eagles, and all of those games took place this year. Four of the last nine games between the Twins and Eagles have produced double-digit run totals.
The LG Twins should be favored because they’re simply the better team here and have won all eight meetings against the Hanwha Eagles, all of which have been beatdowns for the most part. However, these prices are crazy when you consider the pitching matchup. Woo-chan has a 6.04 ERA and 1.61 WHIP in 56.2 innings, while Shi-hwan has a 4.69 ERA and 1.72 WHIP in 55.2 innings. Woo-chan has allowed a combined 12 earned runs and 19 hits in his last 9.2 innings. He shouldn’t be laying this sort of juice regardless of opponent. Four of the last nine games between the Twins and Eagles have produced double-digit run totals. You have to like a lot of offense with these two guys on the mound.
Give me the over 9.5 runs in game two of this series.
