The SK Wyverns and Kiwoom Heroes meet Friday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Incheon SK Happy Dream Stadium.
The SK Wyverns need a win here after losing 12 of their last 17 games and just lost two of three to the Doosan Bears. The SK Wyverns pitching staff has allowed four or less runs in 10 of their last 19 games. In their last effort, Choi Jeong and Yoon Suk-min combined for two hits and two RBI while Baek Seung-geon allowed four runs and six hits in four innings of work. The SK Wyverns have lost 24 of their last 32 games overall. Kim Joo-han gets the ball tonight for the SK Wyverns.
The Kiwoom Heroes look for a win here after splitting their last eight games and just took two of three from the NC Dinos. The Kiwoom Heroes have scored no less than five runs in 15 of their last 23 games. In their last effort, Kim Hye-sung and Jeon Byung-woo combined for four hits and one RBI while Moon Sung-hyun allowed five runs and five hits in 2.2 innings of work. The Kiwoom Heroes have won 19 of their last 30 games overall. Lee Seung-ho gets the ball tonight for the Kiwoom Heroes.
The Kiwoom Heroes have won four straight games against the SK Wyverns and 13 of the last 15 meetings overall. Five of the last 10 meetings between the Heroes and Wyverns have produced double-digit run totals.
The SK Wyverns are unbackable even when they're getting odds this high, but the itching matchup in this game doesn't have me running to the window to back either of these clubs. Seung-ho has a 5.90 ERA and 1.52 WHIP with 18 walks in 58 innings while Joo-han has a 6.53 ERA and 1.74 WHIP with 10 walks in 10.2 innings. It's been rough for both of these starters, especially Seung-ho who has allowed 12 earned runs in his last six innings. Fifty percent of the last 10 meetings between the Heroes and Wyverns have produced double-digit run totals.
The total is quite high, but I'd still lean toward the over in this contest.
