The NC Dinos and Samsung Lions meet Wednesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Changwon NC Park.
The NC Dinos look for a win after winning 11 of their last 17 games. The NC Dinos have scored five or more runs in 17 of their last 25 games. In their last effort, Park Suk-min and Kang Jin-sung combined for four hits and four RBI while Choi Sung-young allowed three runs and three hits in 3.1 innings of work. The NC Dinos have won 17 of their last 27 games overall. Drew Rucinski gets the ball tonight for the NC Dinos.
The Samsung Lions need a victory here after losing seven of their last 11 games. The Samsung Lions have allowed five or less runs in 18 of their last 31 games. In their latest effort, Kim Sang-su and Lee Sung-gyu combined for three hits and five RBI while Baek Jung-hyun allowed five runs and nine hits in 5.1 innings of work. The Samsung Lions have won 22 of their last 37 games overall. Won Tae-in gets the ball tonight for the Samsung Lions.
The NC Dinos have won seven of the last nine games against the Samsung Lions and nine of the last 12 meetings. Six of the last 11 meetings between the Lions and Dinos have produced double-digit run totals.
The NC Dinos continued their dominance over the Samsung Lions in last nights game and they have the edge in game two of this series as well. Rucinski has been one of the more dominant pitchers in KBO this season with a 2.05 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 83.1 innings, and he's earned the win in each of his last five starts. Tae-in has a 3.12 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in 66.1 innings, which isn't bad at all but doesn't match up to the level of Rucinski. The Samsung Lions are just 3-3 in the last six games Tae-in has pitched and a lot of that has to do with a lack of run support when he's on the mound.
I'll side with the NC Dinos and take the RL to shave down an expensive ML price.
