The San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers meet in an NL West division matchup from Dodger Stadium on Sunday night.
The San Francisco Giants will try to salvage a series split with the Dodgers after picking up their first win of the year in a 5-4 win over L.A. on Saturday. Donovan Solano had a double and two RBIs while Wilmer Flores had a solo home run and Darin Ruf added an RBI as well. Mike Yastrzemski went 2 for 4 with a double while Jaylin Davis added a base hit as well to finish off San Francisco’s offense as a team in the winning effort. Logan Webb allowed one run on six hits while striking out a pair over four innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Caleb Baragar got the win to improve to 1-0 while Trevor Gott picked up the save in closing out the 9th. The Giants did not have a starting pitcher announced at the time that this article was posted.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to bounce back and win the series after dropping game three on Saturday. Corey Seager had two RBIs while Will Smith added a solo home run and Justin Turner went 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI to round out the Dodgers’ scoring as a team in the loss. Chris Taylor chipped in a pair of hits while Joc Pederson, Austin Barnes and Cody Bellinger each had a base hit as well in the loss. Alex Wood took the loss, falling to 0-1 after allowing three runs on three hits while striking out four over three innings of work. Julio Urias will get the start here and was 4-3 with a 2.49 ERA and 85 strikeouts last season. In his career, Urias is 0-2 with a 1.34 ERA and 34 strikeouts against the Giants.
Trends for this game will be updated when they’ve been released.
I’m having a hard time figuring this out without knowing who the Giants are sending to the hill. With that said, Urias has thrown well against the Giants with an ERA just over one in 13 appearances, but at least one offense has been on in each of the first three games and we’ve seen at least nine runs and I think we see some of the same in the finale. I’ll side with the over in this one.
