The Doosan Bears and Kiwoom Heroes meet Tuesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium.
The Doosan Bears look for a victory after winning six of their last nine games. The Doosan Bears offense has produced five or more runs in 13 of their last 20 games. In their last effort, Choi Joo-hwan and Jose Fernandez combined for four hits and three RBI while Lee Young-ha allowed four runs and five hits in 6.1 innings of work. The Doosan Bears have won 23 of their last 31 games overall. Raul Alcántara gets the ball tonight for the Doosan Bears.
The Kiwoom Heroes look for a win after losing six of their last eight games. The Kiwoom Heroes have scored no less than five runs in 17 of their last 30 games. In their last effort, Kim Ha-seong and Park Byung-ho combined for four hits and four RBI while Kim Jae-woong allowed zero runs and three hits in 2.1 innings of work. The Kiwoom Heroes have won 21 of their last 37 games overall. Eric Jokisch gets the ball tonight for the Kiwoom Heroes.
The Kiwoom Heroes and Doosan Bears have split their last six meetings, but the Bears have won seven of the last 10 meetings. Five of the last seven meetings between the Heroes and Bears have produced double-digit run totals.
The Doosan Bears have played the better baseball over the last week or so and have the clear h2h advantage in this series as well. The Bears should be favored. However, this is a terrific starting pitching matchup that makes you want to side with the team and the cheaper price because of how close it is. Alcántara has a 2.89 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 90.1 innings, while Jokisch 2.12 ERA and 1.94 WHIP in 89 innings. Alcántara has allowed just two runs in his last 20 innings and Jokisch has been a little shaky in his last couple of starts, but the bottom line is these two guys have been some of the better starters in the KBO this season.
Give me the Kiwoom Heroes and the cheaper price.
