The Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers meet Wednesday in MLB action at Globe Life Park.
The Arizona Diamondbacks look for a win to get back to a .500 record. The Diamondbacks have scored four or less runs in each of their first five games and have split their last eight games when scoring four or less runs. Ketel Marte leads the Diamondbacks with seven hits and one RBI while Starling Marte and Christian Walker have combined for 11 hits and four RBI. Madison Bumgarner gets the ball, and he is 0-1 with a 4.76 ERA and four strikeouts this season. This will be Bumgarner’s second career game against the Rangers.
The Texas Rangers need a victory here to snap a three-game losing streak. The Rangers have scored a combined six runs this season and produced just three hits in Tuesday’s loss. Joey Gallo leads the Rangers with three hits and two RBI while Rougned Odor and Nick Solak have combined for six hits and three RBI. Lance Lynn gets the ball, and he is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and nine strikeouts this season. Lynn is 6-1 with a 3.22 ERA and 63 strikeouts in his career against the Diamondbacks.
The Diamondbacks are 9-2 in their last 11 interleague games, 8-3 in their last 11 during game 2 of a series and 7-1 in their last 8 interleague road games. The Rangers are 5-12 in their last 17 games on grass, 2-7 in their last 9 interleague games and 1-5 in their last 6 during game 2 of a series. The under is 4-1 in Diamondbacks last 5 overall. The under is 4-0 in Rangers last 4 overall. The Diamondbacks are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Texas and 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
Lynn has proven to be one of the better pitchers in the league and looked sharp in his debut with nine strikeouts, but he's pitching for a team that's scored six runs in four games. I don't care of Nolan Ryan is on the mound, it's hard to win baseball games when a team doesn't score runs. We're also getting plus money with Bumgarner on the other side, and while he may not be the World Series Bumgarner from a few years ago, there's still something left in that tank. I'll gladly take the Arizona Diamondbacks and the plus money.
