The Samsung Lions and Hanwha Eagles meet Thursday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Daegu Samsung Lions Park.

The Samsung Lions need a victory here after losing four of their last five games. The Samsung Lions have allowed five or less runs in 18 of their last 34 games. In their latest effort, Kang Min-ho and Kim Ho-jae combined for four hits and five RBI while Won Tae-in allowed four runs and nine hits in two innings of work. The Samsung Lions have won 23 of their last 40 games overall. Choi Chae-heung gets the ball tonight for the Samsung Lions.

The Hanwha Eagles need a win after losing five of their last seven games. The Hanwha Eagles pitching staff has allowed five or more runs in 14 of their last 19 games. In their last effort, Lee Yong-kyu and Kang Kyung-hak combined for five hits and four RBI while Kim Bum-soo allowed seven runs and four hits in two innings of work. The Hanwha Eagles have lost 34 of their last 46 games overall. Kim Min-woo gets the ball tonight for the Hanwha Eagles.

The Hanwha Eagles and Samsung Lions have split the last 10 meetings, but the Lions have won eight of the last 13 meetings. Eight of the last 13 meetings between the Lions and Eagles have produced double-digit run totals.

The Samsung Lions are in no position to be laying these sort of prices, but it just goes to show you what oddsmakers think of the Hanwha Eagles. And while the Hanwha Eagles won the last meeting against the Lions, they haven't won back-to-back games since June 25-26. The Samsung Lions also have the pitching advantage in this matchup, as Chae-heung 3.88 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 60.1 innings, and he's allowed a combined nine earned runs in his last 21.2 innings. Min-woo has a 4.48 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 66.1 innings, and the Hanwha Eagles have lost eight of the last 10 games he's pitched.

I almost have no choice but to side with the Samsung Lions in this contest, and I'll lay the RL to shave down an expensive ML price.

Randy’s Pick Samsung Lions -1.5
