Best MLB Underdog Bets
Monday, August 3rd
One key with betting the MLB or any baseball is finding underdogs who have great value at an underdog price. Very rarely do all favorites win any given day, so picking the right underdogs can make a lot of money. Let’s take a look at a few underdogs who will come out with victories on Sunday.
The San Diego Padres have lost two games in a row, but this is a great chance for them to get back on the right track. Walker Buehler will get the start for the Dodgers and he wasn’t great in his first start against the Houston Astros. In that game, Buehler only went 3 2/3rd’s of an inning and he currently sits with a 4.91 ERA. It’s hard to imagine that he is going to be going deep in this game. Chris Paddack will get the start for the Padres and he has gone 11 innings total this year giving up only two runs. The Padres led by Paddack will get the job done.
The Indians at plus money is a gift on Monday night. The Indians offense is really struggling but they aren’t going to have to score many runs to come away with a victory in this one. Zach Plesac will get the start for the Indians and in his first start against the Chicago White Sox he went eight innings giving up three hits and zero runs. He does have a tough matchup with Luis Castillo going, but the Indians will still find a way to come away with a victory in this one.
This one is more based on value, rather then it being the best play on the board. The Phillies have had a long layoff, and Jake Arrieta will be making his first start of the season, and although he might not be as good as he once was, this is a big game, and Arrieta has found success before during his career in the biggest games. Don’t bet this one big, but based on value, it has some value.
