The Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox meet in an AL Central division matchup from Guaranteed Rate Field on Wednesday.

The Detroit Tigers will try to rebound after a 10-4 loss to the White Sox on Tuesday. Jonathan Schoop had a solo home run while Niko Goodrum had an RBI and Austin Romine and Harold Castro each had a double with Roming going 2 for 4 at the dish in the losing effort. Jeimer Candelario and Miguel Cabrera each had a base hit as well to round out the offense for Detroit in the loss. Tarik Skubal took the loss after allowing four runs on seven hits over just two innings of work in his first big league start. Casey Mize will make his major league debut here after posting an 8-3 mark with a 2.55 ERA and 106 strikeouts between high-A and AA last season.

The Chicago White Sox come into this one looking to build off of their win over Detroit on Tuesday. Tim Anderson and Jose Abreu each had three RBIs and a double with Abreu going 3 for 5 at the plate while Anderson went 4 for 5 with a home run as well. Yoan Moncada added two RBIs while Nomar Mazara and Danny Mendick each had an RBI as well in the victory. James McCann added a base knock as well to round out the offense for Chicago in the victory. Dylan Cease got the win to improve to 4-1 after allowing just two earned runs on five hits over 6.1 innings of work. Dane Dunning will get the start here and will also make his major league debut. Dunning’s last action in 2018 saw him go 6-3 with a 2.71 ERA and 100 strikeouts across high-A and AA ball that year.
