Cleveland Indians vs. Minnesota Twins – 8/26/20 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

2020-08-26 19:10:00 EDT

The Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Indians meet in an AL Central matchup in MLB action from Progressive Field on Wednesday night.

The Minnesota Twins will look to bounce back from a 4-2 loss to the Indians on Tuesday night. Luis Arraez had a double and an RBI while Max Kepler added an RBI as well to finish off the scoring for the Twins in the losing effort. Ryan Jeffers, Marwin Gonzalez, Miguel Sano and Jorge Polanco each had a base hit as the Twins had just six hits as a team in the losing effort. Rich Hill allowed one run on four hits while striking out five over five innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Jorge Alcala took the loss, falling to 1-1 after giving up three innings in one inning of relief. Jose Berrios will start here and is 2-3 with a 4.75 ERA and 33 strikeouts this season. In his career, Berrios is 5-3 with a 3.90 ERA and 64 strikeouts against Cleveland.

The Cleveland Indians will look to build on their victory over the Twins on Tuesday. Francisco Lindor led the charge with a two-run home run while Carlos Santana and Tyler Naquin each had an RBI to cap off Cleveland’s scoring as a team in the win with Naquin adding a double. Jose Ramirez and Franmil Reyes each had a pair of hits as well in the victory. Shane Bieber got the win to improve to 6-0 after giving up two runs on four hits while striking out ten over six innings of work. Brad Hand closed out the 9th for his 8th save of the season. Mike Clevinger will start here and is 1-1 with a 3.24 ERA and 15 strikeouts this season. In his career, Clevinger is 4-4 with a 3.14 ERA and 78 strikeouts against the Twins.

Minnesota is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record and 7-3 in their last 10 games overall while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games following a loss. Cleveland is 50-23 in their last 73 games within the division and 8-3 in their last 11 games overall while the under is 34-16-1 in their last 51 games following a win. The under is 38-15-2 in the last 55 meetings between these two teams and 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams in Cleveland.

Berrios bounced back in his last start and looked like his typical ace self, but it’s going to take more than one start to really say that he’s back on track. On the other hand, Clevinger is pitching for the first time since being demoted a couple of weeks ago after breaking protocol and I’m not sure how he will fare after such a long layoff. I do expect there to be runs though, so give me the over as my free play for this game, but my stronger pick is on the side and I have that available as a premium pick that you can find here.
