The Miami Marlins and the New York Mets meet in an NL East division matchup in MLB action from Citi Field on Thursday.

The Miami Marlins will look to bounce back from a 5-4 loss to the Mets on Wednesday. Corey Dickerson had two RBIs while Brian Anderson and Jesus Aguilar each had an RBI as well to finish off the scoring for the Fish in the losing effort. Matt Joyce had a double while Jon Berti, Lewin Diaz, Jorge Alfaro and Jonathan Villar all chipped in base hits as well in the losing effort. Elieser Hernandez allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out seven over four innings of work. Nick Vincent took the loss, falling to 1-2 on the year in relief. Sixto Sanchez will start here and is 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA and 4 strikeouts this season. This will be Sanchez’s first career start against the Mets.

The New York Mets will try to build off of their win over the Fish on Wednesday. Brandon Nimmo and Michael Conforto each had a solo home run while Dominic Smith, Robinson Cano and Wilson Ramos each had an RBI as well with Cano going 3 for 4 with a double. J.D. Davis and Jeff McNeil each had a base hit as well to finish off the offense for the Mets in the victory. Jacob deGrom threw seven innings, allowing just one run on two hits while striking out 14, not factoring in the decision. Brad Brach got the win in relief to improve to 1-0. The Mets didn’t have a starting pitcher announced at the time of posting.
