2020-08-29 20:10:00 EDT

The San Diego Padres and the Colorado Rockies meet in MLB action from Coors Field on Saturday.

The San Diego Padres will try to build off of a 10-4 win over the Rockies in Friday’s matchup. Ty France had a double and four RBIs while going 3 for 4 at the dish while Wil Myers went 4 for 5 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. Manny Machado, Eric Hosmer, Jake Cronenworth and Jorge Mateo each had an RBI to finish off San Diego’s scoring as a team in the win with Hosmer and Mateo each having a double while Machado went 3 for 4 at the dish. Fernando Tatis Jr. had a double in going 2 for 6 while Austin Hedges had a base hit as well to finish off San Diego’s offense as a team in the winning effort. Zach Davies got the win after allowing four runs, none earned, on five hits while striking out six over 5.2 innings of work. Adrian Morejon will start here and is 0-0 with a 5.79 ERA and 7 strikeouts this season. This will be Morejon’s first career start against Colorado.

The Colorado Rockies will try to bounce back after their loss to the Padres on Friday. Matt Kemp had a three-run homer while Raimel Tapia went 2 for 5 with a triple and Nolan Arenado added a 3 for 4 mark at the dish. Elias Diaz, Daniel Murphy and Trevor Story each had base hits as well to finish off Colorado’s offense as a team in the loss. Kyle Freeland gave up four runs on 11 hits over 4.1 innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Jeff Hoffman ended up with the loss to fall to 2-1 on the year. Antonio Senzatela starts here and is 3-1 with a 3.96 ERA and 25 strikeouts this season. In his career, Senzatela is 7-1 with a 3.10 ERA and 40 strikeouts against San Diego.

Trends will be updated once they’ve been released.

I’m really not sure what to make of Morejon in a start like this on the road at Coors Field, but what I do know is that he has the second hottest offense in the majors behind him at Coors where the ball flies. Antonio Senzatela had a couple of nice starts, but he’s historically had issues at Coors even though it’s his home field and I just don’t know how the Rockies counter here. I’ll side with the Padres as my free pick for this game, but my stronger play is on the total and I have that available as a premium pick that you can find here.
