SK Wyverns vs. NC Dinos – 8/29/20 KBO Baseball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

2020-08-29 05:30:00 EDT

The NC Dinos and SK Wyverns meet Saturday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action at the Changwon NC Park.

The NC Dinos need a win after losing 14 of their last 24 games. The NC Dinos have scored five or more runs in 29 of their last 49 games. In their last effort, Park Min-woo and Na Sung-bum combined for four hits and three RBI while Kim Jin-ho allowed six runs and eight hits in three innings of work. The NC Dinos have won 28 of their last 51 games overall. Drew Rucinski gets the ball tonight for the NC Dinos.

The SK Wyverns need a win here after losing 31 of their last 49 games. The SK Wyverns pitching staff has allowed four or less runs in 20 of their last 51 games. In their last effort, Kim Kyung-ho and Oh Tae-gon combined for two hits and five RBI while Ricardo Pinto allowed six runs and five hits in 5.1 innings of work. The SK Wyverns have lost 43 of their last 64 games overall. Park Jong-hoon gets the ball tonight for the SK Wyverns.

The NC Dinos have won 10 of the last 13 meetings against the SK Wyverns. Five of the last seven meetings between the Dinos and Wyverns have produced double-digit run totals.

Drew Rucinski has a 3.22 ERA and 1.27 WHIP this season through 117.1 innings, and he’s allowed five or more earned runs in three of his last five starts. Park Jong-hoon has a 5.13 ERA and 1.43 WHIP this season through 94.2 innings, and he’s allowed three or more earned runs in four of his last five starts. The NC Dinos are obviously big favorites here based on what they’ve done all season, their success against the SK Wyverns and the pitching edge. Drew Rucinski has had some recent hiccups, but he’s been solid throughout the year and you’d expect him to get back on track here against a losing team.

I’ll take my chances with the NC Dinos and the RL in this series opener. It’s been hard to make a case for the SK Wyverns this season.
