Boston Red Sox vs. Atlanta Braves – 8/31/20 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

2020-08-31 19:30:00 EDT

The Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox meet Monday in MLB action at Fenway Park.

The Atlanta Braves look for a win after winning eight of their last 12 games. The Braves have scored 17 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in nine of their last 11 games. The Braves have won six of their last nine games when scoring four or more runs. Dansby Swanson leads the Braves with 40 hits and 20 RBI while Freddie Freeman and Marcell Ozuna have combined for 69 hits and 44 RBI. Max Fried gets the ball, and he is 5-0 with a 1.35 ERA and 38 strikeouts this season. This will be Fried’s first career game against the Red Sox.

The Boston Red Sox look for a win after splitting their last 10 games. The Red Sox have scored 16 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in nine of their last 11 games. The Red Sox have won six of their last eight games when scoring four or more runs. Xander Bogaerts leads the Red Sox with 35 hits and 22 RBI while Alex Verdugo and Kevin Pillar have combined for 66 hits and 25 RBI. Colten Brewer gets the ball, and he is 0-2 with a 4.57 ERA and 21 strikeouts this season. This will be Brewer’s first career game against the Braves.

Will update with trends once they’re released.

Max Fried has allowed three runs and 21 hits in his last 28.1 innings with 26 strikeouts and nine walks. Colten Brewer has allowed nine earned runs and 19 hits in his last 16.2 innings, and he has 10 walks and 15 strikeouts during that span. This is a quick turnaround for the Atlanta Braves who played late last night and have to travel, but they have a clear pitching matchup and are the better, hotter team overall. We’re talking about a pitcher in Fried who has an ERA of 0.95 this month in almost 30 innings. You can’t step in front of that.

Give me the Braves and the RL for max betting value.
