This will be the first matchup in a four-game series this week between these teams. The Nationals didn’t get off to a great start in the Monday game, coughing up six runs over the first four frames. Washington provided a half-dozen runs of their own in the next five innings, but couldn’t catch Philly despite out-hitting them 11-7. Trea Turner had a nice night with four hits and three runs with a solo homer, and Juan Soto slapped two homers with four RBI.

Pick: I’m leaning Phillies here, but it’s close. Both starting pitchers are coming off nice outings against the same opposing teams. Corbin went six innings with two runs and three strikeouts on August 26, and Nola went seven innings with two runs in a win on Wednesday, thiteming a season-high 113 pitches. I like both guys to have solid games again here, with the Phillies breaking through in the later innings versus the Nats bullpen. Looks like a tight, lower-scoring game on paper.
