Michael Conforto leads the Mets with 54 hits and 26 RBI while Jeff McNeil and Dominic Smith have combined for 76 hits and 48 RBI. Rick Porcello gets the ball, and he is 1-4 with a 5.54 ERA and 33 strikeouts this season. Porcello is 8-12 with a 4.77 ERA and 108 strikeouts in his career against the Orioles.

Tom Eshelman has allowed four earned runs and five hits in his last 3.1 innings while Rick Porcello has allowed 15 runs and 35 hits in his last 33 innings. I’m not running to the window to back Eshelman, but Porcello isn’t a pitcher who should be favored given his struggles this season and past seasons. The Baltimore Orioles are also playing the better baseball with four straight victories, and the Mets are a inconsistent bunch that still struggles to score runs when not hitting home runs. I can’t lay this number with the Mets.
The value is with the Orioles and the big plus money. I’ll take my chances with the hotter team and more favorable price.
