Miami Marlins vs. Washington Nationals Game 2 – 9/18/20 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

2020-09-18 20:10:00 EDT

The Washington Nationals and Miami Marlins meet Friday in game two of an MLB doubleheader at Marlins Park.

The Washington Nationals look for a win after splitting their last 12 games. The Nationals have scored nine runs in their last three games and four or more runs in six of their last eight games. The Nationals have won four of their last six games when scoring four or more runs. Trea Turner leads the Nationals with 66 hits and 28 RBI while Juan Soto and Asdrubal Cabrera have combined for 78 hits and 56 RBI. Patrick Corbin gets the ball, and he is 2-5 with a 4.10 ERA and 50 strikeouts this season. Corbin is 4-1 with a 1.69 ERA and 36 strikeouts in his career against the Marlins.

The Miami Marlins look for a win after winning six of their last 10 games. The Marlins have scored 11 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last eight games. The Marlins have won five of their last six games when scoring four or more runs. Jesus Aguilar leads the Marlins with 42 hits and 29 RBI while Brian Anderson and Corey Dickerson have combined for 80 hits and 40 RBI. The Miami Marlins didn’t list a starting pitcher at the time this article was published.

Will update with trends once they’re released.

Patrick Corbin has allowed nine runs and 23 hits in his last 17.1 innings, and he’s allowing a .285 batting average and .330 on base percentage this season. On the road this season through 21.1 innings, Corbin has a 5.48 ERA and .303 allowed batting average with 10 walks and 14 strikeouts. It’s not easy to predict the second game of a doubleheader without knowing what happened in the first game, but I have to lean toward the Marlins in this spot. Corbin hasn’t been great this season and has really had issues on the road. The Marlins have had success in these doubleheaders and need to keep winning to improve their playoff seeding.

Give me the Marlins the game two on Friday night.
