Baltimore Orioles vs. Tampa Bay Rays – 9/20/20 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

2020-09-20 13:05:00 EDT

The Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles meet Sunday in MLB action at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

The Tampa Bay Rays look for a win after winning seven of their last nine games. The Rays have scored 15 runs in their last three games and three or less runs in five of their last seven games. The Rays have lost six of their last nine games when scoring three or less runs. Brandon Lowe leads the Rays with 47 hits and 33 RBI while Willy Adames and Joey Wendle have combined for 80 hits and 31 RBI. Ryan Yarbrough gets the ball, and he is 1-3 with a 3.97 ERA and 32 strikeouts this season. Yarbrough is 3-0 with a 3.38 ERA and 29 strikeouts in his career against the Orioles.

The Baltimore Orioles need a win after losing 10 of their last 12 games. The Orioles have scored eight runs in their last three games and three or less runs in six of their last nine games. The Orioles haven’t won a game this season when scoring three or less runs. Hanser Alberto leads the Orioles with 55 hits and 17 RBI while Jose Iglesias and Renato Nunez have combined for 93 hits and 48 RBI. John Means gets the ball, and he is 1-3 with a 5.63 ERA and 21 strikeouts this season. Means is 2-1 with a 3.68 ERA and 20 strikeouts in his career against the Rays.

Will update with trends once they’re released.

Ryan Yarbrough has allowed five runs and 11 hits in his last 8.1 innings while John Means has allowed six runs and 16 hits in his last 17.1 innings. Certainly not the best pitching matchup in the world, but the Orioles have been fade material pretty much all season long and that doesn’t change here with them losing 10 of their last 12 games. The Rays have piled up the victories over the last week and they’ve been nearly unbeatable when the offense shows up even a little bit.

I’ll lay the juice here and back the Rays in another victory over the O’s.
