The Kiwoom Heroes and Kia Tigers face off on Tuesday in a KBO baseball showdown at the Gocheok Sky Dome
The Kiwoom Heroes have high expectations coming into the season and each of the first two games they have been impressive. In the first game of the season, Kiwoom beat the Samsung Lions 6-1 and in the second game they were able to win 7-4. Kiwoom was led by David Freitas and Soo-hwan Kim who both finished the game with two hits and two RBI’s. In this game it’s going to be about the offense running up the score.
The Kia Tigers have played one game so far this year against the Doosan Bears on Sunday, and that was a game they lost by four runs. The Kia Tigers scored a run in the 3rd inning, but in the 8th inning they gave up four runs and that led to the defeat. The Tigers had nine hits in the game, but only one crossed the play. Sun Bin Kim had a big game finishing with three hits, one walk, and one RBI.
Daniel Mengden will get the start for the Kia Tigers and this is his first year in the KBO. Last season with the A’s he appeared in four games sitting with an 0-1 record and an ERA of .3.65.
Won-Tae Choi will get the start for the Kiwoom Heroes and he is hoping to have a bounce-back year after some struggles last season. Choi finished the year with a 7-6 record and an ERA of 5.56.
This game is played inside the dome so there is no concerns about the weather.
Choi struggled last season for Kiwoom and I don’t think he is going to be any better in this game. Look for the Kia Tigers' offense to get out to a fast start and that will be the difference as Kia comes away with a victory.
