The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Oakland A’s meet in MLB action from the RingCentral Coliseum on Tuesday night.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to build on a 10-3 win over the A’s in Monday’s series opener. Corey Seager and Zach McKinstry each had a double and three RBIs with McKinstry logging 3 hits in the win while Justin Turner had a home run and two RBIs and Will Smith added a solo home run as well. Max Muncy went 3 for 4 at the dish while Chris Taylor, A.J. Pollock, Cody Bellinger and Mookie Betts all had base hits as well in the victory for the Dodgers. Dustin May got the win after tossing six shutout innings, giving up just two hits while striking out eight. Clayton Kershaw will start here and is 0-1 with a 7.94 ERA and 2 strikeouts this season. In his career, Kershaw is 0-0 with a 1.35 ERA and 23 strikeouts against the A’s.
The Oakland A’s will still be looking for their first win after being blown out by the Dodgers last time out. Mark Canha went 2 for 5 with a solo home run while Matt Chapman and Ka’al Tom each had an RBI as well to finish off Oakland’s scoring as a team in the losing effort. Mitch Moreland and Stephen Piscotty each had base hits as well as the A’s mustered up just six hits as a team in the losing effort. Frankie Montas took the loss, falling to 0-1 after allowing seven runs on seven hits with 4 strikeouts over just 2.2 innings of work. Chris Bassitt will start here and is 0-1 with a 5.06 ERA and 3 strikeouts this season. This will be Bassitt’s first career start against the Dodgers.
Los Angeles is 40-11 in their last 51 games as a road favorite and 20-6 in their last 26 interleague games while the over is 8-3 in their last 11 road games. Oakland is 0-5 in their last 5 games overall and 0-6 in their last 6 home games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 home games.
I get why the plus money with the A’s is tempting as they’re a better team than what we’ve seen up to this point, but realistically until I see signs of life I have to go the other way and I can’t see Kershaw having two bad games in a row to start the year. I think the Dodgers add another notch to Oakland’s misery here, so give me the Dodgers on the run line here.
